Is the Slovak medical university internationally recognized?
Yes. The Slovak medical universities are listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS) and recognized by WHO. They are NMC-compliant, making graduates eligible to appear for FMGE/NExT in India, as well as USMLE and PLAB, subject to country regulations.
Is there an entrance exam or interview conducted by the university?
Yes. Students must appear for an online entrance examination in Chemistry and Biology. Entrance exam fee: EUR 200. The fee includes official study material consisting of approximately 400 questions. Application deadline: February–March 2026. Intake: September 2026.
Are the degrees valid for FMGE/NExT, USMLE, PLAB, and other licensing exams?
Yes. Graduates are eligible to appear for licensing examinations in India, EU, UK, and USA, subject to country-specific medical council regulations. The degree awarded is MD (Doctor of Medicine), equivalent to MBBS.
Are the universities public or private? Are scholarships available?
The universities are state-owned and government-recognized. Scholarships are not available for international students, as tuition fees are already significantly lower compared to most other European countries. Academic coordination is managed in collaboration with our consultancy.

Yes. Universities are affiliated with major hospital networks such as Penta Group and Agel Group, which collectively operate over 30 hospitals across Slovakia, ensuring comprehensive and high-quality clinical exposure.
What is the duration and structure of MBBS in Slovakia?
The MBBS/MD program has a duration of 4.8 years, followed by a 1-year paid internship. Curriculum structure includes: Pre-clinical training (Year 1-2), Para-clinical training, and Clinical training with hands-on exposure starting from 3rd year. The program strictly follows EU medical education standards.
What are the eligibility requirements for admission?
Completion of 12th grade with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB). Minimum academic requirements as per university guidelines. NEET qualification is mandatory for students planning to practice medicine in India. Admission is based on academic merit and university assessment.
What is the tuition fee for MBBS in Slovakia?
Tuition fees range between EUR 11,500 – 15,000 per year (approximately INR 10–15 lakhs annually). Comenius: €13,000 (GM) / €14,500 (Dentistry). Jessenius: €11,500 (GM). UPJS: €13,000 (GM) / €13,500 (Dentistry). Fees are fixed and payable once per year. No installment options available.
What accommodation and food facilities are available?
Students may choose between university hostels or private accommodations located close to campus. Vegetarian food is easily available through hostels, Indian mess facilities, and nearby restaurants. Accommodation is generally within or near the campus and affiliated hospitals. Slovakia offers a student-friendly environment with high quality of life at reasonable costs.
How do students manage language and safety concerns?
Slovakia is a safe and welcoming country for international students. The medium of instruction is English. Slovak language training is provided to help students communicate effectively with patients during clinical practice. We provide dedicated on-ground support, local contact numbers, and WhatsApp community access.
Do you provide student visa assistance?
Yes. We offer complete visa support, including documentation assistance, embassy appointment guidance, and interview preparation. Support for visa renewals is also provided (at an additional cost). We coordinate with the Education Ministry, Interior & Foreign Ministry, and the Indian Embassy in Slovakia.
